Ways to Maximize Power | Unity

There is power in unity. One of the most effective ways to maximize power is to find opportunities to collaborate with others powerful people who are looking to magnify their power. This will not only provide motivation and support for each partner, it will increase the overall power since “two are better than one (Ecclesiastes 4:9).

Indeed, the greatest accomplishments in this world are done with others. This truth is undergirded in the actions of Jesus when He sent out the disciples two by two. This team approach offers motivation and encouragement and even protection when the process becomes difficult.

We have many examples in distant and recent history, and should use the inspiration from history to unite today! We have to be intentional about creating cohesion when the enemies of human progress promote division. Older generations are more effective when they work with younger generations. The old benefit from the energy and strength of the young and the young benefit from the wisdom and experience of the old.

When men and women work together magic happens. When republicans and democrats cross political lines, the American people benefit. Can you imagine the power of Tyler Perry working with Spike Lee, or Cornel West working with former President Obama? If Malcolm and Martin would have locked hands hands sooner?

I remember when Kevin Durant sought to “take his talents” to California to play for the Golden State Warriors to unite with other talent. Though there were some that disagreed with his choice, this union resulted in 2 NBA championships!

When our favorite musicians collaborate with each other, what they create is some of the most magical and memorable music. Who can forget Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack? Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell? Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson?

Division is so rampant in the world because there is a concerted effort to stifle the impact of unity. That alone shows the power of unity. Let’s be intentional in seeking partnerships and relationships that will magnify our power and ultimately maximize it. Then, and only then, will we discover that intentional unity can accomplish otherworldly progress and have forever-lasting effects.
